I am Pablo Uriarte, a photographer, filmmaker and graphic designer. I have been dedicated to the arts for over 20 years. In 2015 I founded Morelo Project, an independent film studio created with the goal of promoting different forms of artistic expression such as cinema, photography and music. Throughout my career, some of my projects have been selected for national and international festivals, and several have received awards.
I lived for six years on the island of Malta, where I explored every corner with my camera, capturing its essence: its architecture, its history, its unique light, and the daily life of its people. Years later, after returning to Spain, my niece Nela began asking me endless questions about the island: what it was like, what children did there, what language they spoke, and whether it was true that there were temples older than the pyramids.
Her curiosity inspired me. I decided to turn my photographs into illustrations and create a book especially for her, so she could discover Malta in a fun, visual, and exciting way.
